How to keep succulents alive.. plus a tutorial!

Every year my daughter and I plant a succulent garden. It is something she loves doing and being able to watch over and take care of something.

This year we saw quite a few videos going around with a new design so we decided to jump on board! This garden was so easy to create and below I'm sharing 5 things you should know to keep your succulents ALIVE:

1. OUTSIDE- Most succulents do better outside rather than indoors.

2. SHADE- although succulents like being outside, keep them shaded. Very few survive in full sun.

3. LESS IS MORE- Don't over water your succulents! Mold can kill them. We do a light misting on ours. When the soil looks dry, usually about once a week, or once every two weeks for bigger pots, that's when we know to water.

4. Use a good potting mix. There are dry cactus mixes that will work better for succulents, we usually find a good potting soil at Lowe's and it works good, too.
